The poetic oeuvre of M. Vasalis is admittedly modest in size (only around 100 poems in total, spread over three collections), but her poetry has nonetheless acquired a position all of its own in Dutch-language literature of the twentieth century. It could even be argued that her poems were already classics when they appeared. (with seven translated poems by M. Vasalis).
