Annemieke Dannenberg: Disruptive depot

Eighteen young Flemish and Dutch authors bring an artefact to life from the Slavery exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Annemieke Dannenberg gives a voice to a brush used in eighteenth-century incantations.

This text was written during a residency at Flemish-Dutch cultural organisation Huis deBuren in association with the Biermans-Lapôtre Foundation.

Annemieke Dannenberg

Dannenberg writes poems and short stories, creates immersive art and reads the tarot. She studied Creative Writing and Religious Studies. Her art explores the contemporary landscape straddling absurdity and meaning, magic and disillusionment. She has appeared at the Feminist Art Festival, spoken word event Woorden Worden Zinnen, Wintertuinfestival and Perdu’s Dichtersmarathon (Poetry Marathon), is a member of art collective ROEM in Leiden and has published in online magazines Samplekanon, Hard//Hoofd and De Optimist. In collaboration with deBuren she created the Literary Tarot helpline.
