Do gardeners get it too, that urge to dash off and do something they've just been reading about? In the same way as Marjoleine de Vos, when she sees certain fish at the market or when she reads about shoulder of lamb with kidneys, immediately thinks: ‘yes, I'm going to cook that!'? Her piece is an ode to the joy of cooking. Cooking is something that you have to get really involved in. Cooking is necessary; it is essential and eternal and has nothing to do with pastimes.
