This week’s Friday Verses are written by Pieter Olde Rikkert. We translated Twee meisjes (Two Girls). This poem was first published in Dutch in Het Liegend Konijn, a magazine for contemporary Dutch-language poetry.

Pieter Olde Rikkert (b. 1993, Oldenzaal) studied Dutch literature (obtaining a first-class degree). He was in the final of Write Now! 2018 and has published in, for example, Kluger Hans and The Best Twenty Stories from the Great Lowlands Writing Competition. One of his stories was translated into English and published in Amsterdam Tales.
