Worlding the Low Countries

13th International Conference of the Association for Low Countries Studies

As the truism goes, we are all connected, yet research on the worldliness of the Low Countries is still a rather minor fraction of Dutch Studies. The ALCS2019 conference attempts to broaden and encourage this type of research and wishes to world the study of Dutch, including its global varieties and relations.

It invites speakers to focus on the interconnection between the Low Countries and the world, and on the different scales (local, regional, national, continental, global) and levels (aesthetic, cultural, linguistic, political, economic, ecological etc.) on which these relations take place.
