de lage landen engages in international cultural diplomacy with a deliberate multilingual publication policy (English, French, etc.) and a presence outside its own language area. The aim is to increase the knowledge of Dutch and Flemish culture and society abroad.
The Flemish and Dutch governments support the mission of this organisation. de lage landen has no profit motive. Own income is reinvested in its operations.
