400 Years of Dutch-American Stories
Four hundred years ago, in 1624, the first Dutch settlers set foot in what is now New York City. They founded New Netherland and its capital, New Amsterdam. In this series, compiled by the National Archives of the Netherlands, you read stories from the rich history shared by the Americans and the Dutch. Although for the most part, their relationship has been stable and peaceful, their shared history also has dark moments. These stories, too, are told.
