The author asks himself whether it would be more accurate to refer to Oek de Jong’s novels as the work of his ‘pens’ rather than the work of his ‘pen’. After all, the novel is his form, but still each new book bearing his name seems to have been written by a different author also called Oek de Jong. With an extract from the novel Pier and Ocean (Pier en oceaan).
